The Corey J Goodman memorial fund came to life as a result of his family and friends wanting to carry on his legacy. Corey passed away on November 21, 2023 at the age of 26, from colon cancer caused by a genetic disorder called Familial adenomatous polyposis (FAP). FAP is a rare genetic disorder with no cure and research is desperately needed to help those living with this disorder. When undetected, as in Corey's case, the end result is colon cancer. If detected early, there are treatments that may or may not prevent cancer, but the current treatments are a lifetime burden of tests, procedures and surgeries in an effort to keep cancer from developing. It is our hope that there can be some alternative solution to managing FAP and/or curing it altogether. The best way for us to honor Corey is to raise funds for FAP Research at Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston. His family and friends are organizing an annual golf tournament, as well as other fundraisers throughout the year in order to make contributions to this important research.
