Joan was passionate about life-long education and herself was immersed in STEM fields. As a pediatrician she touched the lives of thousands of families. She attributed much of her success to the education she received at Mt. Holyoke College in South Hadley, Massachusetts. We can think of no better way to honor her memory than by establishing a memorial fund in her name to benefit deserving young women aspiring to study in a STEM field at Mount Holyoke College who would likely be prohibited from attending college without financial support.
