Derek’s Dream is a nonprofit foundation, established after the sudden death of Derek in 2019. Derek was celebrating over three years of sobriety when he was tragically killed in a motor vehicle accident by an impaired driver. His legacy will also honor the memory of his father, Willard, who lost his life to suicide in 2014. This foundation will empower individuals to reach their full potential by awarding scholarships to student-athletes and people committed to living in sobriety. Inspired by the belief that determination and resilience create lasting impact, we will provide opportunities that honor Derek and Willard’s legacy—supporting dreams and fostering hope for a positive future.
