The Parker G. Colvin Fund was established in 2024 by his parents. Some say that there would be no more peaceful way to pass than surrounded by loved ones. While Parker had his mom and dad throughout the duration of his illness, many children are not afforded that luxury. Financial barriers such as insurance maintenance, transportation costs, lodging costs, and other childcare make it difficult for children to have the support needed during some of the most difficult days of their lives. Family proximity has been scientifically linked to better psychological and physical outcomes, including shorter hospital stays.
